Save Money with 5 Star Rating AC

Air conditioners or as they are normally known as, ACs, are a must these days to get away from the scorching heat. ACs have become an essential appliance in everybody’s life. Air conditioners not only cool the room, but also filter the air, making it healthy to breathe and safer for the inhabitants of the house, especially small children. Many hesitate to purchase an air conditioner due to the fear of heavy monthly electric bills and ignorance of the specifications to be followed while buying them. Knowing a few simple aspects of ACs, anyone can easily purchase a good 5 star rating AC and welcome the summer.
Points to remember prior to buying a 5 star rating AC
The foremost thing to remember is to check the specifications such as BTU’s cooling ability, power consumption in Watts and most importantly, the star rating.  A 5 star rate is regarded as the most efficient and power saving appliance, therefore, look for a 5 star rating AC.
After making sure that, the AC has a 5 star rating, look for the cooling ability, as that’s the main purpose of buying the AC. Check the details of the AC with the help of the salesperson and try to understand its functions.
You cannot compromise with the cooling, especially during summers, and therefore you have to choose wisely from among the many types of ACs that can suit your requirement. You can install a normal window AC in your house and a split AC for your office or malls. It has to be kept in mind that whenever you buy an AC, a star rated AC is very good for cutting your monthly electric bills and also provides cool as well as healthy air.
The labeling of star to the electrical appliances was introduced in January 2010 by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). It is mandatory to star rate ACs, refrigerators, tube-lights, etc. from 1 to 5 in order to calculate its energy consumption. The energy saving efficiency is more if there are more stars, hence 5 star rating AC is more energy saver than 2 or 3 star rated ACs.
Cooling capacity and the power used (watts) are the two main aspects in an air conditioner.  For, e.g. one ton AC’s cooling capacity has to be 12000 BTU and if the AC is 1.5, BTU should be 18000. As some of the electrical appliances manufacturing companies quote their AC for 1 ton, though the cooling capacity is quite less than a BTU of 12000, BEE has introduced the system of star rating to guide the customers in the right direction to buy the energy saving AC.
Advantages of 5 star rated AC
In the Indian temperature, if an AC runs for 8 hours, a 5 star rated AC saves energy. It allows you to use the AC without any fear of electrical hazards, as it has gone through various tests to ensure safe functioning. A 5 star rating AC is more economical for offices, as the ACs are used daily in almost all seasons.
